Sherwood Cruisers Kasey Sorum Memorial Scholarship

The Sherwood Cruisers Car Club will provide one (1) $500 scholarship to students who will enter a technology or accredited degree program in the United States for the 2012-2013 school years.  This includes music arts, automotive technology, engineering and industrial technology degrees approved by the Sherwood Cruisers scholarship committee.

Eligibility

The Sherwood Cruisers Kasey Sorum Memorial Scholarship is only available to:

  • 2012 Sherwood High School Graduates
  • 2.8 or higher GPA (on a 4 point scale)
  • Demonstrate a history of commitment to their community through leadership activities, community service and\or work experience.
  • Show examples of showing an interest in music, automotive\motorcycle hot rodding, customizing, racing or fabrication.

  Program Guidelines

  • Scholarship awards may be used at any technology or accredited two- or four- year college, university, or technical school within the United States
  • Scholarship funds may be applied to the cost of tuition, fees, books, lab fees, tools, computers, and required class supplies
  • Awards are not renewable; however, students can reapply each year as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements
  • A student may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award

Scholarship Program Details

  • Applicant must provide a 300 word essay describing their passion for music, vehicle restoration or racing activities along with the attached application form.  The applicant must have applied their skills to one of the above items and describe in detail their success and challenges applying their skills to the hobby.  Finally the applicant must tell us in writing the reasons why he or she should be awarded this scholarship.
  • All Sherwood Cruisers Kasey Sorum Memorial Scholarship programs are funded by The Sherwood Cruisers Car Club.
  • The selection and administration of this program is completed by the officer’s and members committee of the Sherwood Cruisers Car club.
  • The Sherwood Car Club scholarship committee has the right to add recipients as they feel necessary with club approval.  The club will guarantee an award of at least one scholarship per calendar year.
  • The Sherwood Cruisers Car Club is an Equal Opportunity organization.
